Frankie using Hawkeye in this instance came as a surprise to me and many other One Piece fans, as this power had not been teased for him up until this point. Regardless, it was a change I welcomed, as one of the main criticisms of the series is the lack of force development for the non-Monster Trio characters. We were all happy to see Eiichiro Oda become aware of the glaring flaws within Straw Hat Pirates and address them. As the story progresses towards the end of the Elbaf arc, Frankie has a great opportunity to tap into Armament Haki and upgrade as a pirate.

Despite these main feuds, the other Straw Hats now have their own challenges ahead of them through the revived Killingham's MMA, thanks to him receiving the Omen from Nerona Emu. This new fight against powered-up MMAs sets up a potential moment for Frankie to tap into Armament Hockey. Having subconsciously used it once in One Piece Chapter 1119, it would be fitting for Franky to use Haki once again in the climax of Elbaf against the MMA Army. This increases his overall power level significantly and allows him to compete at a higher level.

Cyborg Franky officially defeats Sasaki, one of Yonko Kaido's elite Tobi Roppō in the Wano Country arc, specifically in Chapter 1019, which came out on July 19, 2021 in Shuisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump issues #33-34. Sasaki already being a Frankie officer means Yonko is new. Officially pushed into Yonko Commander territory with any new power-up. That's something that excites me as someone who's been watching his journey since the Water 7 arc. With the new Armament Haki upgrade, Franky can be strong enough to take on strong Yonko Commanders of the caliber of Jack the Drow, Charlotte Cracker, and even hold his own against characters like Raja and Katakuri, but that's not all.
Eiichiro Oda officially set up another power upgrade for Cyborg Franky in the Egghead arc, specifically in chapter 1176, which was officially released on March 9, 2026 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump issue #15. In this chapter, Vegapunk shows Franky how to transform into super natural energy. This Super Vega Cola charged Franky to a higher level of power, making him comparable to Jinbei.

If Frankie is given both Super Vega Cola and Armament Haki at the top, his overall power level should be in the same league as elite Yonko Commanders like Queen, Smoothie, Katakuri, and King. In due time, Frankie will master Haki and combine it with his scientific abilities. This certainly makes him an elite fighter, the likes of which could only be a handful of rivals. With this imminent power-up and beyond arcs for Cyborg Frankie at Elbaf's climax, Eiichiro Oda will finally address my and many fans' criticism over the years of not giving the Straw Hats enough power. With battles now being fought against elite world government officials, this power-up is likely on the way.
