The meta is essentially tied to what kind of Pokemon and items are available, and what's good now can change dramatically in the future. Still, I believe an item should be in the game on day one, and its absence promotes a toxic meta.

There are many Pokemon in the meta that deserve a shout-out, such as Dragonite, Mausold, Talonflame, and Sinischa, but there is one pattern among many that I've already mentioned: the secondary effect on attacks. One of the most frustrating things that can happen to you Pokemon Champions An opponent using two relatively fast attackers can click Rock Slide simultaneously, which can easily flinch your Pokemon.

Likewise, the Covert Cloak prevents flinching from fake outs, which is a big reason why Schnesler and Incinerator are so popular now. A cover-up can prevent:

Flinching from fake outs, rock slides, iron heads, and similar moves
Burn with Scald, Flare Blitz, Heat Wave, and similar moves
Freeze with blizzards, ice beams, and similar moves
Sneasler's Dire Claw Effects (Poison, Sleep and Paralysis)
Paralyzed by Thunderbolts and similar moves
Confusion from hurricanes and similar movements
Speed reduction from Electroweb, Icy Wind, and similar moves
Attack cuts from trap kicks and similar moves
Special attack reduction from Snarl and similar moves
Special defense reduction from Shadow Force and similar moves
Psychic Fangs and the ability to break the veil of Brick Break
Purity reduction from dusty water and similar movements
Inability to use sound-based movements from throat chop

The Blastoise and Farigiraf duo can also be quite a pain to deal with at times, as the former can use Fake Out to make your Pokemon flinch while the latter sets up Trick Room. Then, Mega Blastoise uses Water Spout or some other move to deal heavy damage, and Farigraph either attacks or uses moves like Rain Dance and Helping Hand to support Mega Blastoise. These are just some of the best Pokemon Pokemon Champions or the best combos right now, and Covert Cloak will provide some relief in team building thanks to their continued presence in the meta.

There are a lot of things Cover Cloak will block, and I desperately want a meta where clicking Rock Slide for the sake of flinching opponents isn't so easy and free. This turns the game into a very luck based engine, and any way to stop this would be awesome.
