We're almost halfway into 2026, and the gaming world has already been treated to a number of amazing games, from Crimson Desert who Resident Evil 9. This greatness hasn't been limited to a single platform either, in fact any console or PC player can experience the best the industry has to offer, but lately, it feels like the PS5 has its foot on the gas with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Now that June is just around the corner, it's clear that PlayStation is more than happy to keep the ball rolling, continuing to push games through a range of different genres to cement its place as one of the best places to play today. Whether you're into platformers, horror games, shooters, or RPGs, I guarantee that the next month or so will satisfy even more gamers.
We left EA Sports UFC 6 and Dead or Alive 6 Final Roundto focus on (mostly) new names rather than well-established series.

The horror continues

A story of self-acceptance explored through a darker perspective
-
Release date: June 1, 2026
BrokenLore: FOLLOW It's the next game in one of horror's newest and most influential franchises, and in my opinion, it might be the best yet. With a woman named Anne at the center, you can experience all kinds of pain from memories to emotions, all through a more twisted and distorted lens that relies heavily on symbolism, while still having enough room for some pretty disturbing creatures.
After playing Unfollow and don't lookI was thoroughly impressed with how well it was made and how interesting the concepts were explored, so when I heard another game was on the way, I knew it was time to get back into the horror mood. Part of what makes the game so appealing is the fact that it comes from an indie studio. Serafini Productions is a terrific development, and with so many projects in the series, it's the perfect time to pick up and experience the best the genre has to offer.

5 Upcoming Open-World Games That Sound Too Good To Be True
Meet some of the most ambitious and promising open-world games coming in the next few years that could set new standards for the genre.
It wasn't until the late 2010s that I actually went back and played the original, and while it has some roughness around the edges, it certainly stands as one of the best RPGs of the era. Comparing it to the first game and the rest of the RPG landscape, I'd say that if you're a fan of the genre and hungry for a truly innovative and engaging experience, you won't find a better one anytime soon.
Densestack!
Lots of different types of platforming

Colorful platformer with many skill expressions
-
Gothic 1 Remake
-
Release date: June 17, 2026
Densestack! Nothing could be further from a traditional platformer, and that's why I'm so excited about it. To begin with, from a stylistic perspective, the visuals take inspiration from anime, infusing every moment with vibrancy and color to ensure there's never a dull moment between the action.
Then there's the actual gameplay, which sees players jumping, grinding, sliding and flying on a physics-defying train, with all the power to pull off moves and bump up those style points. The original trailer hooked me right away, and since then, my interest has grown, as it not only looks like a well-polished and engaging platformer, but a truly unique one, which is harder and harder to come by these days.
Leave Hell: Vietnam
Be a part of history

Large-scale, realistic battles
-
Release date: June 18, 2026
The world of FPS games has seen many great titles come and go, but one that continues to go strong after many years. Leave the hell out. Focusing more on realism and intense gunplay, the game reintroduced players to a more basic approach to shooter gameplay, and with release. Vietnam Around the corner, it looks like that concept is only going to get better and better.
I loved the first game, and I found that despite the large-scale nature of the games, there were always opportunities for individual players to shine and show how well they knew the map and the game. And now that we're going to experience a completely different setting, I'm hopeful that the game will really hit its stride and become one of the big names going forward.
NBA The Run

Arcade style 3v3 basketball games

Basketball and gaming have been linked for many years under one name: the NBA. If the sport does not have the biggest league attached to it, then success is very difficult to come by, so when The Run: Happened next was acquired and converted NBA The RunSuddenly the potential went through the roof.

People are excited about the upcoming role-playing games
With so many RPGs announced for 2026 and beyond, these upcoming role-playing games are especially exciting.
Rather compete with the main line 2K game, The Run It looks to bring back the old style of competition, where the stakes are on the street, and the pace is twice as fast. I've always been a big fan of sports games that actually involve a lot of skill, and it seems from the details about tech and gameplay that individual expression is taking the spotlight, and that only the best will come out on top.
Seventh Guest Remake
Watching a mystery unfold
Details:
-
Price: $19.99
-
A revival of a classic puzzle adventure
-
Release date: June 4, 2026
7th guest is back with a modern remake that will both retain the puzzle-centric horror design of the original and rebuild the entire experience from the ground up. A murder mystery at its core, I loved how well the puzzles were designed and how well they fed into the next section, and now that the entire game is being modernized, I'm glad more people will get to play it themselves.
The puzzle market has exploded in recent times, especially in the co-op department, but there's still plenty of room left for a new game like this to really make a splash in a single space. Being mentally challenged is one of the main reasons I enjoy gaming, so if you're the same way, I recommend exploring Haunted Mansion for yourself in a few weeks.
The Adventures of Eliot: The Millennium Tales
New HD-2D adventure
-
Price: $59.99
-
Another Square Enix and Claytechworks HD-2D RPG
-
Release date: June 18, 2026
We probably won't get another one Octopath Traveler For a while, but like games The Adventures of Eliot: The Millennium Tales The space in between must be filled. Square Enix and Claytechworks return for a new HD-2D adventure, though this time an action RPG rather than turn-based. Despite that change, this June 2026 game still feels like a throwback to the SNES era, which produced many of the best real-time entries in the genre. Chrono TriggerNot just happening The Adventures of Eliot Not turn-based, but it also doesn't feature multiple player characters, with Elliot the stand-alone protagonist.
However, the game does support co-op, with a second player taking on the role of Elliot's fairy friend, Fi.
Over the last decade, this art style has become relatively common and nowadays lacks the “WOW” factor of earlier efforts; However, Square Enix always seems to have a hit with these RPGs, and The Adventures of Eliot Prime and looks set to be among the newest entries in the genre. I can't wait, personally.
