It doesn't get any better than the St. Francisco Cathedral area of the game. As P makes his way through the mountains, he encounters a mysterious disease that has zombified many long-dead humans and turned them into terrifying creatures that haunt the cathedral's gothic halls. It's a very atmospheric part of the game and a memorable moment when Soulslikes showed just how scary they can be.
