The ZA player completes the impossible shiny hunt

A Pokemon Legends: ZA The player manages to complete a brilliant hunt in Wild Zone 20, which was removed from the game in December 2025 with the Mega Dimension DLC. Pokemon Legends: ZA came out, players quickly noticed that it was the perfect shiny-hunt game because of how spawns reset when resting on benches or entering and exiting indoor areas like a building in Wild Zone 4 or Professor Mable's lab near Wild Zone 1.

Pokemon Legends: ZA Player Finds Six Alpha Shiny Pokemon in Wild Zone 20 After Clearing Glitch

A Reddit user named Dulink shared a post showing six shiny alpha Pokemon on the platform Pokemon Legends: ZAUnder the tower in the forest area 20, area. This was a notorious spawn overload location for shiny hunters who wanted a handful of alpha critters, but since the release of the Mega Dimension DLC, this glitch has been patched. Players could still hunt shiny alphas in Wild Zone 20 if they overloaded the spawn before the 2.0 patch, but it became impossible to repeat the process.

This flashy hunting method was not previously discussed or accepted by the Pokemon Company, so many fans found themselves in Wild Zone 20 without access to overloaded spawn, or maybe even some Pokemon. It took Dulink a few weeks to complete the quest, Noivern being the last shiny of the six Pokémon. It was also a unique hunt at the time because there was no control over which Pokemon would spawn each time the bench reset. Pokemon Legends: ZAThis means that any of the approximately 70 Pokemon that appear at the base of the tower in Wild Zone 20 can shine.

Pokemon Legends: ZA's DLC added new shiny hunting options through Asha's Donuts, and they basically functioned like the shiny sandwiches in Gen 9, albeit with random properties with little control based on the score in each flavor category. This made hunting for shinys a bit frustrating, as many of the processes involved repeating for hyperspace berries or resetting the game to a previous save for each donut that did not yield the desired results.

In comparison, Pokemon Scarlet and Purple's glowing sandwiches were very good, as one only had to grind for Herba Mystica and then follow a recipe for specific results. As such, the spawn overload glitch was missed by fans ZA Once it was removed, but it's nice to see that for players like Duelingk, it's still an option.
