Nami is one of the most important characters a pieceAnd of the five main characters that originate from East Blue, making him a key part of Luffy's journey to claim it. a piece. In many ways, Nami can be considered a heroine a pieceAnd Oda has shown time and time again that she's an incredibly well-written character who can really step up, in times of need.
However, recently Nami is not getting the shine she wants. That said, Elbaf could be the solution, and it looks like Nami could be set for some incredible growth in this arc, in more ways than one.
Nami's understated role in Wano and Egghead
- Nami was a background character before the Battle of Onigashima
- Nami was impatient at Onigashima
Nami played a somewhat important role in the Wano Country arc, but it cannot be considered significant by any means. Considering that Wano had one of the biggest arcs in the entirety of One Piece, if not the biggest, fans expected every member of the Straw Hat Pirates to shine here. However, to the reader's surprise, Nami and Usopp were the two people who were the most surprising. Of course, they played their part, as did the other Strawhats before the war began. However, as the war on Onigashima begins, it becomes increasingly clear to readers that Nami and Usopp are the least productive people there. While every single strawweight did their part and Oda definitely took it to the next level, Nami and Usopp were amazing.
In fact, they didn't even get their own fights, and the vast majority of what they did was just running away. Nami was definitely able to take Ulti down, but she was only on her last legs after the other characters beat Ulti down, like Yamato and Big Mom. At this point, it almost seemed like a moment of pity for Nami, and after that particular moment, Nami didn't really get any shine or do anything significant in battle. Of course, fans had high hopes for Nami in Egghead, but, again, they were surprised to see her do nothing in this arc, while Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji were among the ones who shined the most.
Of course, this came as a surprise to many fans, and many of them were disappointed with the way he was handled in this arc. However, fans now turn their attention to Elbaf, and they know that this is the arc in which Nami can potentially grow. They have only one reason to believe this. Oda has already written Nami brilliantly and carefully incorporated her strategic mind into multiple arcs in one piece, and once again, he's going to do just that, but this time, on a much larger scale.
Why Elbaf can be great for Nami
Nami will come to the real world from Sweden
When it comes to Elbaf, fans know that it is heavily inspired by Scandinavian culture. Oda wants to incorporate Norse mythology into his story, and at the same time, include other elements of Scandinavian society that existed long ago and still exist. Nami, interestingly, is a character that Oda believes would be from Sweden if she existed in real life. Nami being from Sweden means that she has a significant chance to shine in this particular story arc. Recently, Oda included a Lego house in Elbaf's story arc. Apparently, it was inspired by Denmark, which is responsible for creating Lego in the first place. Of course, Oda would take inspiration from the various countries of Scandinavia and incorporate it into his story.
When it comes to Swedish culture, Nami will have an important role for herself. This is all the more interesting considering the fact that Nami's parentage is still hidden in one piece. Fans know nothing about it, and, at the same time, Oda has written a brilliant and compelling story around it that brought even the writers of One Piece Strong World to tears.
Oda (2016): I imagined an early conspiracy of the strong world to discover the secret of Nami's birth. The filmmakers were surprised to read the content. The story turned out to be a bit too touching, so I modified it to be more exciting for a younger audience.
Oda has not revealed much about his past on purpose, and he reiterated around the release of the film Gold that he still had the idea in mind. While it's possible that Oda will never reveal the story surrounding Nami's birth to fans, or reveal it later in the series on SBS, there's also a big chance that he'll incorporate it into the main story and give her more. the depth
How Nami can improve on the Elbaf arc
Nami can become stronger and reveal her past
What fans now know is that Nami is from Oikot Kingdom, and this particular kingdom is full of mystery. Perhaps, the giants of Elbaf are connected with this kingdom, or, in many other ways, it is connected with the land of monsters. For one, it's extremely interesting how Nami is able to predict the weather as if it's a supernatural ability. Vivi put it clearly into words when she first saw it. According to her, her ability to predict the weather is uncanny, and no skilled navigator on the Grand Line could actually do what she does. Nami is beyond all human skill when it comes to predicting the weather and understanding nature in general, and it may not just be a special gift. Perhaps, this is related to her hidden past, and if that happens then it will be absolutely incredible for fans to see it in the future.
More than that, Nami is also likely to strengthen herself in the Elbaf arc. Now, Nami and Usopp are among the weakest members of the crew, but they both need significant power in this arc, which is why Oda had them play an exciting role at the beginning of this arc along with the Demon Trio.
It's time for these two to grow stronger, and for Nami, she can finally gain more insight into how to control the weather. At the same time, fans would definitely love to see Nami acquire at least the basic forms of Haki, and in doing so, become a pirate worthy of being called a Yonko Commander. Hopefully, the Elbaf arc will be where Nami shines and establishes herself as one of the strongest and, at the same time, most skilled navigators that have ever lived – worthy of taking Luffy to the final island.
