It's safe to say that Yuji Itadori was decisive for the victory in the end, and he definitely changed a lot to defeat Tsukuna, the King of Curses. It can be said that Yuji hit another level of power during this fight and he made a solid case for himself as the strongest modern mage since Gozo's death. JJK.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Another Sukuna as Yuji's potential, explained
Yuji has great power as JJK's hero. He has enough ability to reach the comfort level.
That said, there is certainly a challenge he faces from the likes of Yuta Okkotsu, and surprisingly, Megumi Fushiguro. Judging by how much Megumi has grown lately, she could possibly become the strongest modern mage, possibly even stronger than Yuji Itadori.
The possibility of Gozo Satoru, Megumi's rival
- Megumi has the Ten Shadow Inherited Technique
- Megumi can match Gozo
Megumi Fushiguro already had the ability to rival Gojo in the series. Being born into one of the three great families would certainly enable him to reach those levels. But, even among those born into three great families, Megumi was quite special. Megumi was born with the Inherited Cursed Technique of 10 Shadows. It's a curse technique that not everyone in the genin family inherits, and those who are lucky enough to receive it gain the ability to reach incredibly high levels.
Do you understand what I mean? – Gozo
Gojo's potential similar to Megumi's
It can be said that Megumi has an incredible level of talent. In fact, Gozo had clearly said that long ago, the two heads of the Gozo Family and the Genin Family, both of whom had acquired the same skills as Gozo and Megumi, namely, the Unlimited Technique and the Six Eyes, and the 10 Shadow Technique. They matched each other in battle and battle respectively. When these two fought long ago, the battle resulted in a tie and both died at the same time.
The implication here is that Megumi can match Gozo in terms of power if she manages to use her skills correctly. Not everyone is gifted with the level of talent Megumi was born with. That said, talent alone cannot take Megumi to the next level. He needs to work hard and reach the same level as Gojo and Sukuna. Megumi took this advice to heart and of course worked incredibly hard.
It can be said that during the Calling Game arc, Megumi had greatly improved in terms of strength. 10 His control over the Shadow Technique was greatly improved, and his half-baked domain expansion seemed even more dangerous. However, Megumi was far from a finished product, which meant there was a high ceiling to reach and potentially even success. The 10 Shadows Technique alone could make Megumi one of the strongest modern mage, if she were to master it. But, Megumi could potentially reach an even higher level, and that's all Sukuna actually possessed her body for a significant period of time.
The case of Megumi Fushiguro's shrine
Megumi Fushiguro might be able to use Sukuna's Shrine
In the Calling Game arc Jujutsu KaisenMegumi was captured by Fushiguro Tsukuna. After Yo Tsukuna uttered the words “Enchen”, he took a shower, suppressing Megumi's spirit. Although Tsukuna greatly benefits from this switch, actively using Megumi's body means that due to muscle memory, Megumi remembers her moves and, in turn, becomes stronger. Sukuna's cursed energy seeped into Megumi's body, and the case itself resembled Yuji's. As fans know, Yuji was able to inherit the shrine from Sukuna because his energy reached his body so much. Due to having used the Shrine on Yuji's body so many times, Muscle Memory saw that he memorized the technique well and used it a lot in battle after it was truly awakened.
Winning by dying and winning by dying are two different things! – Gozo
A similar case can be made for Megumi, although it is not confirmed whether or not she can actually go on to use these powers. There's no reason Megumi can't inherit the shrine if Yuji can do it. Of course, one could say that Yuji was able to inherit this technique due to his blood relationship with Tsukuna, but, this is not clearly stated in the story, and Megumi also has a reason to inherit this technique. He can also at least fight against Sukuna.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gozo Satoru's Fate Finally, Explained
Gozo died early in JJK's Shinjuku Showdown arc. His ending was a big letdown for fans.
If Megumi had also inherited the Shrine, she would surely be the undisputed strongest. JJKHe has fulfilled all his potential. This means Megumi has access to techniques such as Malevolent Shrine, and also access to techniques such as World Divide Dissolution. The fact that Sukuna used all of these techniques on his body meant that it should be easy for him once he started training them. This is one of the major benefits of having Sukuna in her body.
Along with this, fans know that even when Sukuna uses the 10 Shadow Technique on her body, it has made her very strong. Megumi should be able to use Max Elephant's techniques like Piercing Blood like Sukuna. He should be able to create a fusion beast named Agito and, at the same time, use Mahorga properly, this time better than ever. Megumi has every reason to be incredibly powerful when she fulfills her potential in JJK's future, and when that happens, she truly becomes the strongest modern mage.
Can Megumi be stronger than Yuji?
Megumi will be on Yuji's level with both shrines and 10 shadows
As things stand, Yuji is definitely stronger than Megumi, and there's no denying that fact. However, Megumi can reach a much higher level if she fulfills her potential. All Megumi must do is fully master the 10 Shadows technique, which involves bringing a stronger version of the Mahoraga that Sukuna controls in the battle against Gojo. Furthermore, Megumi must also master techniques such as the creation of the Fusion Beast Agito. Once she controls all of these to perfection and meets the requirements for a perfect domain expansion, Megumi should be able to rival Yuuji in terms of power.
On top of that, Sukuna's moves are imprinted on her body meaning Megumi will be able to fight better than ever. Added to that is the possibility that he will inherit the shrine, and if this is indeed the case, there's no denying the fact that he could actually surpass even Yuji and become the strongest modern mage, possibly getting close. The level of Gozo and Sukuna itself.
Of course, fans don't know if they will get to see it, as there is no planned continuation for JJK. But, at the very least, the theory about Megumi's potential is definitely fun.
The final chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
