We finally got an official look at the remastered Assassin's Creed Black Flag after all the leaks. While we already knew about most of the changes, such as combat being revamped, later missions becoming less annoying, and a $59.99 price, Showcase confirmed a July 9, 2026 release date. However, fans realized that there was one thing missing from the footage.
The showcase featured the remake's new combat system, which featured parries, quick dodges, and stylish execution. However, fans noticed that there is no blood in the fight shown in the trailer. It seems that this is nothing to worry about, as the blood was only removed for a showcase on YouTube, and will feature in the final game.
There will be blood
I don't believe it? Maybe you'll believe Black Flag Resynced creator, Justin Ng. In a recent tweet, Justin assured fans that there will definitely be blood in the finale. He also added that the devs have noticed complaints about combat VFX, possibly the shock flash during parries, and will address it.
“Some things to address quickly I think (hopefully not in trouble),” he tweeted. “There will be blood in the final game, and it won't be paid DLC. We hear feedback in VFX and audio cues in combat. It's being toned down.”
I don't know where the rumors of Blood being a paid DLC came from, but Ubisoft will lose whatever goodwill this remake may have gained the studio if that's true. As for the combat SFX, I also felt that the flash during parries was a bit too much. It looks more like an explosion than a flash. Thankfully, the devs have noted this and will hopefully change it to something a little more subtle.
Other than that, the trailer looks fantastic. It is now clear that despite some changes, Black Flag Resync does not follow the RPG format of the new Assassin's Creed games.
