The month’s end might gradually approach, but July 2026’s free games remain plentiful. Be it through Amazon Prime Gaming (aka Amazon Luna), Steam, Epic Games Store, Itch, or other sites, PC players can always claim free games, as long as they act quickly, since giveaways tend to last only a couple of days. While most freebies are small indie titles that could use a boost in exposure, bigger games are handed out as well, especially through Prime Gaming and the Epic Games Store.

If you prefer console gaming, you don’t usually have giveaways to claim, but you can look forward to new Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus games. Without fail, Microsoft and Sony always give out a few notable titles per month; for July, PS Plus has Rise of the Ronin and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, while Game Pass has Halo: Campaign Evolved and Hell is Us. Act quickly and never miss a free game.

Coinciding with the release of the sequel, Sever and Schisma Games are handing out The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, a story-driven RPG told through the pages of a book. Set in a medieval-style kingdom, you portray a commoner with no rights, but you can lay claim to the legacy of the Brante family. Player choice drives the narrative and serves as the game’s main selling point.

Luto

Epic Games Store’s weekly free games are the most reliable giveaways in gaming, as they have happened at the exact same time for about 5 years now. The occasional Borderlands game aside, the freebies generally consist of indie titles, and the current two lean into spooky territory in very different ways. First, we have Luto, a psychological horror game that touches upon themes of loss and isolation. The protagonist is trapped in their home, with attempts to escape only dragging them deeper.

Echo Generation: Midnight Edition

Epic Games’ second giveaway leans into that Stranger Things vibe, albeit with the focus being on the ’90s. A turn-based adventure game, the story follows kids who are trying to solve a mystery in their hometown. Also, they must fight monsters.

The Ouroboros King (Mobile)

In recent months, the Epic Games Store has expanded its weekly free games to include one mobile title that must be redeemed through its app. The Ouroboros King is the current pick. You will need to follow a few steps to install the game, but it is worth the effort.

Together After Dark

While quality is subjective, the Epic Games Store’s free games lineup for July certainly has quantity covered. Together After Dark is a 4-player co-op found-footage horror game about exploring a dark forest filled with things that shouldn’t be there.

Amazon Luna (Requires Amazon Prime Membership)

Free Games For GOG, Epic Games Store, and Amazon Games

Amazon Prime Gaming, aka Amazon Luna, is arguably the best source for free PC games, as the store seems to always have more than a dozen giveaways available. As long as a subscriber has an Amazon Prime account, they can claim these freebies, which are redeemable across a range of platforms, like the Epic Games Store and GOG. Although most are relatively small titles, Amazon Prime Gaming frequently hands out big names, even if they might be a few years old.

In July 2026, you could claim these games: Survival: Fountain of Youth, Paradise Killer, Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra, and Sugardew Island, although most of those have now expired. The giveaways all end on different days, so I recommend checking the lineup often to make sure you don’t miss anything.

Once you claim a game through Amazon Luna, it is yours – no Amazon Prime or Amazon Luna subscription required to play.

Alienware Giveaway (Steam)

Dwarven Realms

While not that common, sites like Lenovo and Alienware occasionally hand out free games, which typically require signing up for an account. In this case, the latter is handing out keys for Dwarven Realms, an action RPG that incorporates rogue-like survival elements. Besides creating/logging into your Alienware Arena, you need 10 Arena Reward Points to claim the game, which can be earned through daily logins, quests, and a few other methods.

Itch.io

Free Indie Games That Might Not Be On Steam

Although not garnering as much attention as Steam or the Epic Games Store, Itch.io regularly gives away free games as well. Designed entirely to promote indie creators, these freebies are always small titles that would otherwise not garner too much attention.

Game Pass games added to another tier will be listed alongside completely new arrivals. If you see a title that is already on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, that means it has joined the Premium tier.

Xbox Free Game Bonus: Tell Me Why

Consoles don’t typically hand out completely free games, but Xbox owners can currently add Dontnod’s Tell Me Why to their libraries. Microsoft hasn’t revealed when this giveaway will end; at least I couldn’t find that information, so I recommend picking it up as quickly as possible. The game is free on PC until July 1, so it could be the same on Xbox.
