Biggest FPS games announced with major expansions

The reveal season was full of surprises, and some of the biggest names in the FPS world received a flurry of announcements that seemed to keep the content train rolling long after launch. Many of these DLC packs and updates were already teased or suspected to be on the way, but others came out of nowhere, re-energizing fanbases and entering a whole new level of hype that may very well match the heights of the actual launch.

The best part is that there are so many different types of games that everyone gets some love at once, from open-world survival experiences to more linear boomer shooters. So, no matter what kind of FPS fan you are, the next few months promise to bring plenty of action, fun, and most importantly, enough bullets to take down an entire army.

STALKER 2: THE COST OF HOPE

Deep in the heart of the region

STALKER 2's The first major expansion, The cost of hopeIt looks to bring a large chunk of content to an already expansive game, sending you directly to the Chernobyl reactor site and building on the existing story rather than sidelining it. The deeper, more sinister journey you'll encounter, you'll encounter new horrors you've never seen before, but thankfully, some new tools will be added to your arsenal to help combat the dangers underground.

It seems like there's a lot of emphasis on your role in the world and how your choices affect certain factions and the consequences each person faces. The area therefore becomes a living, breathing environment shaped by gray decisions, and I, for one, am excited to experience more of the atmosphere and tension that the series is so well known for.

Doom: The Dark Ages | Disclosures

as if Dark Ages Wasn't torture enough, it looks like we'll once again step into the shoes of the Slayer and his never-ending battle against the forces of Hell. This time, we'll dive straight into the inner psyche of the Slayer, facing more terrifying enemies and mysteries that, as always, can only be cleared with a massive set of weapons and an iron will.

Along with new levels and monsters, we're going to be treated to a whole new weapon in the form of the chain spear, which promises to provide a rewarding and satisfying combat experience for even the most seasoned players. As a huge Boomer Shooter fan, I can't wait any longer DOOMAnd if it's as good as the devs say it is, we could have a contender for best DLC of the year.

DayZ Badlands

The infected spread far and wide

• Area-specific items and weapons

• Expected by the end of 2026

DayZ It may have been over a decade, but that hasn't stopped it from getting new updates and dominating the shooter world. Badlands It brings a completely different biome with vast stretches of desert and sand replacing the traditional jungles, and as the biggest official yet, it looks incredibly unique for all types of players to play.

There's a lot of attention to detail in terms of textures and environments, from the crumbling cities to the foliage around them, and those factors together should make this one of the more immersive and intense experiences the game has to offer. I have been a fan of DayZ Since the early days, and I'm always looking for reasons to jump back, so when Badlands fallsI will explore the desert with thousands of other starving survivors.

Abiotic factors With so much to offer in a single package that it sometimes feels like you're playing a completely different game each session, it's quickly escalated into a top-of-the-line survival space. now with Entropic break Along the way, that breadth is only getting wider, with a sunny, watery location where there are countless new anomalies for you to uncover.

Not only are there sandy islands and stunning beaches to explore, but beneath the surface, there are many additional areas to explore that will undoubtedly bring more questions than answers. If you loved the base game, then this first story DLC should quench your thirst for more quirky survival action you never knew you needed.

The Outer Worlds 2/Rats: PI

Both The outside world 2 and Mouse: Rent PI The DLC has confirmed plans for post-launch support in the form of story packs. In the case of The outside world 2We'll be getting two separate expansions at a later date, and if they follow the blueprint of the first game's DLC content, then we should be in for some pretty fun extra questlines.

for the MouseWe have little to go on, the only details being a new adventure for Jack Pepper and the content being labeled “Story DLC #1”, which means there's more to come down the line. My expectations are an update to the base game with some arcade-style content, and potentially a prequel story that goes into Pepper's past, but we'll have to see where the trail of things takes us next.
