BAGHDAD: Rights advocates are concerned about a bill introduced in Iraq's parliament that, they fear, will roll back women's rights and increase child marriage in a deeply patriarchal society. The bill would allow citizens to choose a religious authority or civil judiciary to decide family matters. Critics fear it will reduce rights in inheritance, divorce and child custody matters.
