Amphoreus, Eternal Land

Amphoreus, also known as Eternal Land, is Honkai: Star RailThe latest planet. The new setting is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology and will feature many new NPCs and playable characters. Honkai: Star Rail Not much information about the design of the Amphoreus has been revealed, but the leak alleges that the planet is home to a time-bending mechanic called the Thermae, a type of ancient Greek and Roman hot spring.

Greek influence on the amphorae is evident in the limited imagery released to the public Honkai: Star Rail. In the Golden Epic trailer released on November 22, Greek motifs, depicted with gold and blue accents, columns, and a flowing river Styx with a voice over, are on full display for the audience. Additionally, some new characters are included Honkai: Star Rail Amphorae have a Greek influence in their design, such as the Aglaea, which wears a golden laurel.

The new amphorous characters refer to Greek culture and mythology not only in their design, but also in their names. For example, Hyacin may be a reference to Hyacinth, the murdered lover of Apollo. While details such as the kits of these characters have yet to be revealed, brief descriptions of the characters in the aforementioned trailer leak them into Greek mythology. Tribi, who is described as a three-faced messenger who travels between gates, may be a reference to the three-faced goddess Hecate, who is associated with crossroads.

Amphorius is not the first setting to be inspired by mythology. The characters in Xianzhou Luofu are influenced by Chinese mythology, as are the characters in Amphorius. However, the Amphorius itself differs from its predecessors the Xianzhou Luofu and Penaconi.

Amphorius versus its predecessors

Penaconi, the setting before Amphorius, is actually a giant space station that hosts the Reverie Hotel. The two small Alderson discs orbiting Penaconi can make the station feel more organic, as they house bodies of land and water. However, Penaconi remains an artificial landscape.

As such, the Xianzhou Luofu is one of six flagships owned by the Hexafleet. This massive starship stands as the jewel in the Xianzhou Alliance fleet for its medical facilities and trading hubs. Although Xianzhou Luofu was available at launch, it's Starship and Penaconi are the latest settings with playable characters. Honkai: Star Rail Players are able to enjoy.

Organic vs. Artificial

Unlike the artificial settings of Penaconi and Xianzhou Luofu, the setting being a physical planet makes the Amphorius feel returned to form. Amphoreus with entry Honkai: Star Rail In version 3.0, it will be interesting to see if other aspects of the game go back to basics in the update. However, Amphorius breaks this setting pattern by being an organic environment rather than a space station or starship.

One could argue that a planet is more flexible in terms of design than a space station or starship. Honkai: Star Rail Penaconi subverts typical tropes of the space station by placing the Reverie Hotel and its intricate dreamscapes, but the interior Xianzhou Luofu closely follows starship stereotypes. Images of Amphoreus may be rare, but it appears Honkai: Star Rail Taking advantage of the natural environment of its latest setting.
