The franchise has been pretty quiet over the last decade, with the last entry, zero, Appearing on the Wii U, but that doesn't mean die-hard fans have forgotten the slick and cunning pilot that once dominated the rail-shooter genre.
I, along with many others, marveled at the new visual approach that seems to bring Fox and the rest of his peers into much higher fidelity territory, but there's something about seeing and hearing that voice that still makes me excited in the face of change. The RPG space has seen a lot of growth over the past few years, and now, we're about to be gifted with yet another epic adventure. The Adventures of Eliot: The Millennium Tales Represents modern HD-2D design, replacing turn-based gameplay with real-time combat, while still retaining all the charm and feel of a more classic title from the early days of the genre.
The titular character is front and center, and players will get to spend a lot of time in their boots, as opposed to swapping out multiple heroes on the fly. I've gotten more invested in this world of HD-2D games over the last few years, and I'm really excited to try something new, and given Square's track record, it will almost certainly stick the landing.

Unrail 2: Back on Track Expands on the original's cooperative survival formula with larger, upgraded biomes and more detailed resource-management systems that should test even the best of friends to their absolute limits. The teams must quickly build and repair railway tracks while navigating procedural disasters and environmental hazards, with some pretty nasty bosses trying to poke holes in the team's otherwise robust plan.
The first game brought me many hours of fun, and it always felt like a logical couch co-op game for party nights, especially among non-gamers. This time, with a full-scale editor and a whole host of new obstacles to overcome, I'm itching to hop on the tracks and get the adventure rolling.

You can set up a massive village base or head out to explore to your heart's content, and I'm going to balance the two, sailing the horizon without a care in the world, then returning home to watch the sunrise over my beautiful creations.

Loyal to the original but a new direction
Final Fantasy VII Reborn One of the biggest names in the RPG space, and now that it's coming to Switch 2, the revival story can continue to blossom into a much wider playing field. A big attraction comes from the upgraded power of the new device, which should give players the epic fantasy experience they love and deserve, given how large and graphically intensive many areas are.
The visuals are truly mind-blowing, and as a late-adopter FF In-universe, I'm glad I got to enjoy such an amazing story in a more cinematic form, as did many other players who missed the original game's release. It's a faithful yet fresh iteration of Cloud's iconic story and the last stop before the trilogy rounds out in a few years.
