Sand: Sophie's attacker Like Sea of Thieves is a PvPvE extraction game. However, instead of pirate ships, players will be piloting giant mechs called tramplers across a hostile desert. During your exploration, you'll encounter a variety of loot ranging from weapons, armor, ammo, parts for your mech, and various crafting materials.
Two of these materials are Thread and Cloth Scrap, which are required to unlock various Trampler pieces in the Dmytro Melnyk skill tree. Here's where to find these ingredients so you can start improving your mech and become the hunter instead of the hunted.
Where to find the thread
Like other crafting and upgrade materials in Sand: Sophie's Raiders, you can only find thread in a specific type of container. At the time of writing, the thread is located in either the Food Crate, the Rare Food Crate, or the Very Rare Food Crate. Looting all of them will most likely result in around 15-30 threads.
There's no other way to get the thread right now, so don't expect to be able to buy it or find it in other lootable containers like medical cabinets or valuable safes. The crates you're looking for will be clearly marked with a white cow icon painted on top, so keep an eye out for them while you're wrecking ships or looting a town.
Speaking of which, the best places to find food crates are in forts, named cities, or in cargo holds of ships. For the forts, you'll either need to bring a timed explosive or use a cannon to blow open the big red doors locked on your trampler. Once inside, you can explore the inner courtyard and climb the walls. Both locations usually have a lot of loot, and I've stumbled upon a lot of rare and overpriced food crates in these locations.
TThe cities he named are a bit more hit or miss when it comes to consistently finding food crates. This is largely due to the size of these points of interest and how scattered the lootable containers are. You can definitely find food crates here, just be aware that these locations are heavily guarded by both Ironclads and zombie-like enemies that roam the streets.
Finally, you'll want to keep an eye out for any ship that has a big red door on its deck. Like castle doors, these can be opened and usually contain 5-6 lootable crates. Food crates aren't guaranteed, but these areas are so quick to loot it's worth a quick stop to check them out!

Where to find fabric scraps
Surprisingly, fabric scraps follow the same rules as thread and currently only appear in a specific type of crate. They are Crate of Shells, Rare Crate of Shells, and Very Rare Crate of Shells. All of these have a chance to produce Fabric Scraps, however, the very rare Crate of Shells has a better chance of spawning actual Fabric instead of Fabric Scrap.
To find these boxes, you'll want to check out common loot locations like forts, cities, and shipwrecks. Where things differ from thread to thread is that common shipwrecks are usually an excellent source for threadAs they almost always seem to contain either a shell crate or a weapon crate (sometimes both!) for you to loot.
These are usually guarded by only two enemies, and you can easily hit multiple ships over the course of a few minutes. If you need cloth scraps for your upgrade paths, I strongly recommend stopping all the different ships and giving them a quick run-through. You can easily fill fabric scraps without setting foot in some dangerous, high-traffic areas.
